For some reason I didn’t post this last week, but I grabbed Komodo Dragon Blend as my coffee for the week. Switching between my Sumatra from last week and Komodo, I’ve been fully indulging my penchant for drinking very robust Indonesian coffees. As I described to a customer who visited our store while I was doing a coffee tasting for my Coffee Master Training, Komodo Dragon has a very wood-like flavor to it that I find very appealing. The coffee also has some tobacco-like notes. I’ve never been a smoker, but growing up I got used to the smell of tobacco from visiting my grandparent’s house. Whenever I visited their house, I could smell in the basement and on my papa’s clothes the rich smell of pipe tobacco. For me, Komodo Dragon is a rush of nostalgia as I recall summer days of climbing trees in their yard and looking at papa’s coin collection.
P.S. Tribute Blend was released today. I think you know what this week’s mark-out will be.
